The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)

Fri, 10/31 @ 10PM
Sat, 11/1 @ 10PM
Sun, 11/2 @ 10:30AM
Much more than a mere horror film, THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE is one of the most infuential films of all time. Beyond the frenzied screams of machines and animals alike, spinning in the heat waves of a seemingly inescapable hellscape lies a deeper exploration of the affects of disenfranchisement, dehumanizing labor, and survival on the nuclear family in a place industry and society has abandoned for dead.
Chain Reactions (2024)
Fri, 10/31 @ 11:45PM
Sat, 11/1 @ 11:45PM
Sun, 11/2 @ 12:15PM
Fifty years after Tobe Hooper's THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE shocked the world and forever changed the face of global cinema and popular culture, CHAIN REACTIONS charts the film's profound impact and lasting influence on five great artists - Patton Oswalt, Takashi Miike, Alexandra Heller-Nicholas, Stephen King, and Karyn Kusama - through early memories, sensory experiences, and childhood trauma. By crafting a dynamic dialogue between contemporary footage and never-before-seen outtakes, and delving into personal impressions triggered by distinct audiovisual formats (16mm, 35mm, VHS, digital), CHAIN REACTIONS goes to the heart of how a scruffy, no-budget independent film wormed its way into our collective nightmares and permanently altered the zeitgeist.

Sun, 11/9 @ 10:30AM
CatVideoFest is a compilation reel of the latest and best cat videos culled from countless hours of unique submissions and sourced animations, music videos, and classic internet powerhouses. CatVideoFest is a joyous communal experience, only available in theaters, and raises money for cats in need through partnerships with local cat charities, animal welfare organizations, and shelters to best serve cats in the area.
We are committed to raising awareness and money for cats in need around the world. A percentage of the proceeds from each event go to local animal shelters and/or animal welfare organizations. Since 2019, over $150,000 has been raised for local shelters in addition to adoptions, fostering, volunteer sign-ups and much more at shows.
By focusing our fundraising efforts on behalf of local shelters and organizations, we’re able to divert money and attention directly to the places and causes that need it most. We trust local people working on behalf of cats to know and understand the problems that need to be solved.
The 75-minute-reel of cat videos is family-friendly and can be enjoyed by anyone. The wide demographic appeal allows for it to be shown in virtually any type of setting - from museums to theaters to outdoor festivals and beyond. This flexibility means there are almost no limits to where CatVideoFest can go!
DAISIES (1966)
Fri, 11/14 @ 10PM
Sat, 11/15 @ 10PM
Sun, 11/16 @ 10:30AM
(Staff Pick: Ali/Veda/Mimi)
If the entire world is bad, why shouldn’t we be? Adopting this insolent attitude as their guiding philosophy, a pair of hedonistic young women (Ivana Karbanová and Jitka Cerhová), both named Marie, embark on a gleefully debauched odyssey of gluttony, giddy destruction, and antipatriarchal resistance, in which nothing is safe from their nihilistic pursuit of pleasure. But what happens when the fun is over? Matching her anarchic message with an equally radical aesthetic, director Věra Chytilová, with the close collaboration of cinematographer Jaroslav Kučera, unleashes an optical storm of fluctuating film stocks, kaleidoscopic montages, cartoonish stop-motion cutouts, and surreal costumes designed by Ester Krumbachová, who also cowrote the script. The result is Daisies, the most defiant provocation of the Czechoslovak New Wave, an exuberant call to rebellion aimed squarely at those who uphold authoritarian oppression in any form.
THE LOVERS ON THE BRIDGE - 4K Restoration (1991)

Fri, 11/21 @ 10PM
Sat, 11/22 @ 10PM
Sun, 11/23 @ 10:30AM
(Staff Pick: Charlie)
Leos Carax’s delirious saga of l’amour fou burns with an intoxicating stylistic freedom as it traces the highs and lows of the passionate relationship that develops between a homeless artist (Juliette Binoche) who is losing her sight and a troubled, alcoholic street performer (Denis Lavant) living on Paris’s famed Pont-Neuf bridge. Capturing their romantic abandon with a giddy expressionist energy—especially in a wild dance sequence set against an explosion of fireworks— this whirlwind love story is an exhilarating journey through a relationship that confirmed Carax’s status as one of the leading lights of the post–New Wave French cinema.
This 4K restoration was carried out by TransPerfect Media from the original 35mm film negative and multi tracks. Color grading supervised by Caroline Champetier, sound by Thomas Guader. Project supervised by Sophie Boyer, Jean Pierre Boiget and the StudioCanal team. Digitization and restoration done with the support of the CNC and the participation of Theo Films.
THUNDERHEART (1992)
Fri, 11/28 @ 10PM
Sat, 11/29 @ *10:30AM*, 10PM
Sun, 11/30 @ 10:30AM
(Staff Pick: Alexander)
In honor of the great Graham Greene, 1952-2025.
Michael Apted's 1992 film Thunderheart is a neo-Western crime thriller that blends investigative drama with a portrait of contemporary Native American life. The film follows FBI Agent Ray Levoi (Val Kilmer), who is sent to a South Dakota reservation to investigate a murder amid rising tensions between pro-government and traditionalist Native groups. What begins as a procedural evolves into a personal and political journey for Ray, who is forced to confront his own partial Sioux heritage and the deep-seated corruption surrounding the case.
Apted, known for both his narrative and documentary work, infuses Thunderheart with an authenticity rarely seen in Hollywood renderings of Native issues. Drawing from real events, notably the Wounded Knee incident of the 1970s and Apted’s own documentary Incident at Oglala, the film skillfully navigates themes of identity, government abuse, and spiritual reckoning. Much of the film was shot on location in South Dakota, capturing both the natural beauty and socioeconomic struggles of reservation life.

Strange Journey: The Story of Rocky Horror is a joyful and wild ride through the tale of the cultural juggernaut that is The Rocky Horror Picture Show. From its humble origins as a London fringe theater play, the documentary tracks its meteoric rise, fall and resurrection to become the biggest cult film of all time. With intimate access to its creator Richard O’Brien and other major players such as Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon and Lou Adler, the documentary explores what makes the play and film so singular: Its groundbreaking and transgressive themes, iconic performances and epic songs that took over popular culture. The cult phenomenon that sprung around it is unparalleled, and created not only the midnight screenings which continue to this day, but also a safe haven for those who ever felt different or marginalized – with particular significance for the queer community. In our current political climate, Rocky Horror’s message of inclusion and self expression holds more resonance than ever. As Dr. Frank-N-Furter says, “Don’t Dream It, Be It.”
