Seeking Bookkeeper or Bookkeeping/Accounting Service

The Chelsea Theater, a nonprofit arthouse cinema, is seeking either a part-time Bookkeeper
(approx. 20 hours/week) or a Bookkeeping/Accounting Service to manage the theater’s
financial record keeping and support accurate, transparent accounting practices. This position
reports to the Executive Director and works closely with the Finance Committee of the Board of
Directors.


Key Responsibilities
+ Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks (online)
+ Process accounts payable and receivable, including vendor invoices and customer
payments
+  Record daily sales reports, credit card activity, and reconcile bank deposits
+  Prepare biweekly payroll and maintain employee records in coordination with payroll
service
+  Reconcile monthly bank statements
+  Generate monthly financial reports for the Executive Director and Finance Committee
+  Assist with budget tracking and cash flow monitoring
+ Prepare
+  Maintain files and documentation to ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting
standards
+ Other finance-related duties as assigned


Qualifications:
+ Minimum of 3 years bookkeeping or accounting experience; nonprofit experience
strongly preferred
+ Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
+ Knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit fund accounting
